About Me

Who am I? And why am I here?

I am Sarah, a 20 something University of Leeds Graduate in Geography and Geology.

I have always been one of those people who is never far away from her camera, always snapping away at every opportunity. Throughout University, due to my subjects, I visited many different places, taking my camera and capturing memories at every location. After leaving, and having a little more ‘me time’, I decided to take photography up as more of a hobby; to learn and to improve. This is why I am here. To display my work. What point is there in creating magic if nobody sees it?

I like to photograph anything, though my main interests are Landscape/Scenery, Nature and Architecture.

Another fond past time of mine is cooking, not only the daily essentials, but fun things to tempt the taste buds. I make anything from cupcakes, to casseroles, to chutney. I make my own recipes and take great delight in trying out recipes shared by others. Needless to say, once my creations are complete, I take a picture then share it, almost as a trophy of my achievement. Again, another reason I am here.

I am a great animal lover, especially for the smaller, domesticated animals. I have 2 kitties currently, one of which was a rescue kitten, found by my brother. I have 3 Hamsters, 2 White Dwarfs and a Syrian who looks like a Chocolate Hooded Rat. I also have an obsessive boyfriend who insists on the Hams having enormous living spaces to ensure they have plenty of stimulation. I would like some Degu’s in the not so distant future to add to my collection. Then more kitties.

Other interests of mine include music. I have worked in two separate live music venues, which, if I am being honest, muted my passion for live music somewhat when I noticed the fickle nature of the whole industry. It is getting to be that I am happier listening to the music at home. I am quite happy to pay money to support the music because I am a great believer in keeping music alive, but gone are my days of clinging onto the barrier for dear life and coming out of the room dripping wet and gasping for a drink after a gig. I still attend the odd few, keeping well out of the main hustle and bustle.

One of my other passions is singing. I have a moderately acceptable voice and would love to improve it when I have the time and money to get professional instruction. I like to sing anything, and I sing it loud.

I live in the North Yorkshire Countryside between York and Scarborough in a pretty little village with my parents, my boyfriend and the animals. The views from my windows regularly include farm animals and wildlife. The air is fresh and the bus services are limited!

So there we are; This is me.
